Since President Georges Pompidou asked Pierre Paulin to design his private appartement in 1973, this is the first time the Elysée Presidential residence appointed a decorator to also refurnish completely some reception rooms. Thierry Lemaire was commissioned for the salon Pompadour, the salon la cartographie, the salon des Aides de camp as well as the presidential office.
